Selah Tsosie - Riley Engineering

How often do you think about water? Perhaps you calculate how many ounces to drink each day. If your home or business is experiencing leaks or pressure issues (we can help with that), maybe you’re thinking about water a lot.

I’m Selah, and I’m the business manager at Riley Engineering. There was a time when I didn’t think about water much. But when I started noticing how many people don’t have access to reliable water, I wondered how to help. Now, I think about water almost all the time. Water affects almost every part of our life and is our most vital resource. We can’t survive very long without it.

Water for All

Riley Engineering was founded (in Marana!) with the goal of improving people’s lives by ensuring that everyone has water. Our engineers chose to specialize in water resources because they share a passion for creating the infrastructure required to facilitate health and socioeconomic well-being. That includes many activities from pre-planning to design to construction management, ultimately breaking down into 3 primary areas:

  1. Water & Wastewater
  2. Drainage
  3. Site Civil

Designing the Future

We get excited about our projects because we are truly designing the future. As a design firm, what we draw and specify will become what a contractor builds, and what families and communities enjoy, use, and rely on in the future. Some examples:

  • Designing and managing construction for water distribution systems – new or replacement
  • Conducting feasibility studies to help an owner decide how to develop a property
  • Creating site plans, grading plans, dry utility plans, and sewer plans
  •  Conducting hydraulic modeling, drainage reports, and floodplain modeling to ensure water goes where it’s supposed to go and stays out of where it’s not supposed to go
