Sol Dog Lodge & Training Center: A Heart for Dogs, A Home for Community

If you spend even a few minutes at Sol Dog Lodge and Training Center, you’ll feel it — the wagging tails, the caring staff, and the sense that this place is about much more than dogs. It’s about people, compassion, and second chances.

Sol Dog Lodge began with a simple belief: every dog deserves to be loved, and every family deserves the chance to keep their dog, no matter their circumstances. As a nonprofit organization, Sol Dog reinvests every dollar earned back into its mission — helping families in crisis, providing training and boarding, and offering a safety net when life gets hard.

“Every dog that stays with us helps another dog in need,” says Executive Director Valerie Pullara. “That’s what makes Sol Dog special. Whether it’s a family struggling to afford care or a veteran who just needs a little help, our community steps up — and we make sure no one faces those challenges alone.”

At the new campus in Marana, Sol Dog Lodge provides a full range of services — boarding, grooming, training, and temporary care — all under one roof. But behind every service is a purpose: to keep dogs with the people who love them. Donations and community support are the lifeblood of that effort, ensuring that Sol Dog can continue to help families when they need it most.

“Being a nonprofit means our success isn’t measured in profits — it’s measured in lives touched,” Valerie adds. “Every gift, every volunteer hour, every act of kindness keeps our mission alive.”

Because of our active participation and the Chamber’s support, we’ve met new clients, welcomed new donors, and built a passionate base of supporters.

Simply put: the Marana Chamber has been instrumental in helping Sol Dog grow, thrive, and make a meaningful impact in the community.

Join us for the February 4th Marana Mornings breakfast at the Tucson Premium Outlets as we’ll be joined by “Falco” – the K9 from Marana Police Department.  We are raising money for his ballistic vest which can begin to be fitted, now that he is 2 years old.   When community organizations come together, good things happen.
